In the middle of the Penedès area, just ten minutes outside of Sitges, you will find our villa. Olivella is a small, authentic village situated in the middle of the Garraf, the beautiful Catalan Natural Park. The Garraf
Read more...The Garraf is the regino that starts south of Barcelona and which is situated along the coast. Together with the Alt and Baix Penedès regions, the Garraf forms a large part of the limestone Garraf massif (Natural Park), dotted with caves and potholes and rich in plant life (dwarf palm, kermes oak, giant reed, etc.), which falls sharply to the sea, forming a jagged coastline with high cliffs. The population is concentrated on the coastal plain, whose towns have long tourist traditions: Vilanova i la Geltrú (capital) and Sitges, as well as Olivella, Cubelles and Sant Pere de Ribes.

Penedès
Read more...The villa gives also direct access to the Penedès wine region. The area is framed by the coastal hills of the Garraf and the higher inland mountains. Considered one Spain’s best wine-producing regions after the Rioja, it is also one of the most ancient wine areas in Europe. The Penedès is perhaps better-known for its Cava production, the sparkling wine which has had its own Denominació d'Origen since 1991. White grape varieties predominate, although the region also produces some highly-regarded, oak-aged reds.
